Progress is most certainly being made around disability and employment however it is still somewhat slow. This is due, in part, because we still find the subject of disability an uncomfortable one; we don’t always know what to say, what to do, how to act and what is or isn’t appropriate to ask.
It is this discomfort that prevents us from accelerating the speed of progress that we’d like to make; it prevents us from engaging with individuals, understanding their needs, providing appropriate adjustments, and supporting them to realise their potential. It’s now time to move on, to see past a persons’ disability, and start making real progress in this area.
During this webinar delegates will build their knowledge about what is appropriate in terms of language and behaviors; develop their confidence to engage in conversations about providing support; and explore what is and is not appropriate to ask during interviews.
